Eastgate Cyclehon

On Saturday 12th July we spent the day in the Eastgate Centre, taking turns on a turbo charged bike! There was a lot of interest in our little venture and we raised £370 while we were there. It was fun doing the cyclethon and catching up with people you haven't seen for a while. Normally I don't go into town on Saturdays so it was good to see the crowds as well. Thanks to all our cyclists who so willingly gave of their time and effort to spend time with us and a special thanks to all those who donated on the day, people are so generous and kind and so willing to help such worthy causes.

We had a team meeting afterwards as the big event is not so far away! There is definately keen anticipation in the group, so we're looking forward to getting going. Its just getting all the final preparations into shape and making sure we haven't missed anything out!

Today for example we met a friend of ours who is a leader with the local scout group and we were able to secure the use of a gas-burning camping stove, so that we can have a brew-up when we need it as some days we may not be near such luxuries as a cafe. Or if its a fine day and we find a nice spot to picnic, we'll have all the mod cons for that!
